Welcome!

An interview with Ms. Megaphone...
Here is a detailed description of the second Ms. Megaphone run:
We figured out there was a problem the first time around. The problem was that we didn't know if the HGs had heard the message or not. So this time, we had some partners in our escapade.

Two members of the http://www.egroups.com/subscribe/BigBrotherWatchersmailing list helped us out by watching the live net feeds and reporting to us what was going on inside the BB compound. So, with our friends at the ready, off we went...

Labor Day, Mon, 5 Sep 2000

Hello Houseguests!
On Wednesday, Big Brother will offer you money to leave.
Don't take the money! It's a trick! Don't take the money!
We hate Big Brother! We love you guys! Don't take the money!
Fight Big Brother!

Some CBS heads popped up over the fence on the BB side of the river, so we scurried off.
Reports on the cellphone were pretty good. The HGs had heard us, and they were talking about being offered money to leave. But with their delusions of grandeur (no doubt inspired by their isolation from reality!), they were thinking that BB would offer them $100,000 to leave! Can you imagine?! They really are under the impression that the BB show is a huge mega-hit...<shaking head sadly>

So we went back...!
Cell phone reports were that Curtis and Cassandra were outside.
So I yelled out:
Curtis! On Wednesday, Big Brother will offer you money to leave.
It's only $10,000 dollars! Don't take the money!
They'll put in an alternate! Don't take the money! It's a trick!
We hate Big Brother! We love you guys! Don't take the money!
Fight Big Brother!

Cell phone reports that he heard me again, and he repeated what I'd said, but then he talked himself out of it. The second, third and fourth guessing just abounds in that house!

As a delightful surprise, Ms. Megaphone was featured as the opening of the Monday night BB show on TV. They even had subtitles so everyone would know what was said.

Subsequently, on the live Wednesday show, BB offered them the money, but they'd upped the initial offer to $20,000 and when that was refused, they upped it to $50,000. Nobody took the offer. We're very proud of them for not selling out! CBS and BB casted these folks to play the game, and for them to try and buy one out in order to put in a Jordan-clone was really unfair. I'm glad the HGs had two days to think about their options. Too bad they didn't comprehend the info about the alternate coming in...
