How do the Neilsen Ratings work anyway?

Welcome!

An interview with Ms. Megaphone...2
Q: What are your general impressions of the show, particularly the way the HGs are depicted on TV as opposed to what Internet feed folks see?
A: The show is awful! From what viewers can see on the internet, to what actually ends up on the show, there is so much left out and what isn't left out is quite distorted.

Q: What abuse of the HGs in particular inspired you to take megaphone in hand?
A: I was quite angry that CBS/BB edited that roast to make it appear as if the HGs themselves had come up with those horrible "jokes." at that second roast. So when George and Britt talked in the garden about walking out together, I was in total agreement with them. And that started the whole thing. I had to get a megaphone and get let them know that I was behind them and that the internet viewers knew the truth.

Q: Heard you were in something of an unpleasant scuffle/chase with Radford thugs -- what happened?
A: Well, for a blow-by-blow, I'd rather have you read it here: <click>
That was the worst of the encounters. A less intimidating encounter is here. <click>

Q: Why do you think the HGs embraced your messages while the banners seemed to kind of annoy them? What's your general impression of this bunch anyway?
A: I think they were starved from outside attention. They constantly wonder if anyone is watching. The banners got to be annoying to them because they weren't exactly clear in their messages. The first few were kind of amibguous. They've been sequestered, and what we (on the outside) think of as logical and clear, is obviously not what they think is... and lately the banners have gotten downright mean at times. If I were George, I'd take a contract out on the airplane guys! <LOL>

Q: Speaking of banners, do you know what was on them?
A: I haven't kept track, but you can check out the banners here. <click>

Q: What made you quit? The idea that they, ultimately, can't be talked
out of walking? Or a sinister Endemol threat?
A: Two reasons, really:
1) I don't want to end up in jail! I know that the lackeys who harrassed me had no authority, but next time there might be someone who does. I'd LOVE to go back and give them another message! It really pains me to hear the HGs shouting to the cameras, "Ms. Megaphone where are you?"

2) The people who live in the condos there were getting VERY annoyed and upset by me going out there and causing trouble. The condo security guard told us flat out NOT to come back on the property. And, in all fairness, if some bozo were bellowing through a bullhorn outside of my condo, I'd have their head on a plate! <LOL> So, I'm trying to "do unto others"... But I'd LOVE to go back!

Q: Can you sort of go through your own day this past Saturday, when they almost bolted and you were Noriega'd? I didn't see it, but following it on the TT thread truly was surreal.
A: The full description is here. <click>  Have you seen my site? I had to put up a set of "megaphone pages" because my professional site was getting hit hard by fans and "hatahs." I don't want my professional site besmirched by stupid crap outside of my job. Check out my megaphone pages: <click> A lot of your questions can be answered there.

Q: What are your impressions of this phenomenon -- the show sucks as hard as a show possibly can, but the Internet component has taken on a life of its own, so much so that the Internet viewers are actually changing the content of the show itself. That's fairly unprecedented, and I wonder if such a melding will be possible in the future, or if this is happening because the quality of the broadcast element is so dismal, and people are reacting because this is such a train wreck and will only react to similar train wrecks in the future. (You still with me?)

A: Hmm...that's a toughie...it's an amazing thing that people have had such an impact on the show. If I were CBS, I'd glom onto the outside "interference" and capitalize on the publicity. Publicity means that people are paying attention! I just don't think that CBS gets that about this show.

It's a new type of genre, so there have to be new rules. As for the train wreck, I really, really hope they do NOT do BB2, because it's just not made for the market they're trying to sell it in. They (CBS or Endemol) should put this show on cable, and not during the "family hour" when the kiddies are watching! They should have single, available guests, for flirting and potential affairs. They should have some wilder types of people - bikers, poets, musicians, etc. Beauty Queens are boring....their makeup will smudge if they start having any fun! <LOL> With the show on cable, sex, swearing, nudity and other taboo elements would be shown, and that would attract viewers. CBS and Endemol are dummies for airing this type of show during the family hour.
