        Microburst
        a poem by
        Donald A. Clayton
        Microburst comes zooming through
        My home without a care,
        Ricocheting off the walls,
        Leaping in the air,
        Ripping stuffing from my couch,
        Reducing drapes to shreds,
        Playing havoc with my plants,
        Tearing up my bed.
        The energy expended here
        Is quite an awesome thing.
        But nature makes a cat that way;
        She lives up to her name.
        So, when she's through destroying things,
        She jumps up on my lap,
        And purrs for me to pet her:
        That rambunctious tabby cat.
