KAYE AND ERIC'S HAWAII VACATION
Tuesday - we walked all through the International Marketplace
across the street from our hotel, then we went to the hula show.

The lead dancer
Here's the leader of the Polynesian dance group we watched perform. He started off this dance in the fog....

And then the ladies joined in....

Hula ladies
Hula girl
This dancer was very graceful, elegant and sensuous.
Yikes! Maori dancers!
Then the guys came out and danced a Maori style dance. The Maori warriors came from New Zealand and they had the reputation of being some of the fiercest and scariest warriors in the Polynesian Islands.
Loincloths! Loincloths! Loincloths!
Why don't men wear loincloths anymore?
Loincloths!
This dance was a traditional Hawaiian dance. Notice the different costume.
He was really a great dancer!
Kaye got a little over-excited watching this hunky dancer; that's her fist in the air cheering him on!
He had fun too - he ended up dancing in Kaye's lap like a lap dancer, much to Eric's surprise!
Audience Participation
The problem with loud cheering is that it gets you noticed! When it came to the audience-participation portion of the program, guess which lucky couple was chosen?!
Shake that big butt!
Kaye's getting some personal dance instruction... Wiggle that tush! Notice Eric laughing!
Flap those knees like a chicken!
Then Eric gets a costume and some personal dance instruction... Shake those knees!
Audience Participation
Then it was his turn to cheer us on. We were laughing because we were embarrassed, but we did our best...such as it was!
Final Bows
Taking our bows. For the rest of the time we were in Waikiki, strangers would come up to us and tell us that they'd seen us dancing in the marketplace! We were minor celebrities among the tourists. haha Most of them said that they were glad that it was us up there, and not them!
Tahitian Dancers
Then it was time for the finale. These costumes, and this dance are Tahitian.
Tahitian Dancers
They could shake their hips and skirts faster than a washing machine can agitate clothes!
